Water discovered deep beneath Earth's surface

Evidence of water beneath Earth's surface could alter the understanding of the composition of the planet and how its oceans formed.

Researchers have discovered evidence of water — enough to fill oceans — embedded in minerals deep beneath the surface of the United States that could alter the current understanding of the Earth's composition and how it was formed. Were this water in liquid form, which it's not, the discovery could be considered the planet's largest underground water reservoir, researchers said.

Majlis Perhimpunan Bulanan Februari 2014 Ibu Pejabat Jabatan Mineral dan Geosains Malaysia (JMG) telah diadakan di Bilik Mesyuarat Nilam, Lantai 22, Bangunan Tabung Haji, Kuala Lumpur pada 28 Februari 2014. Majlis Perhimpunan bulanan ini dimulakan dengan nyanyian beramai-ramai Lagu NegaraKu. Pembacaan Ikrar Perkhidmatan Awam telah dipimpin oleh En. Mat Wadi bin Ab Satar dari Unit Lombong dan Kuari, Cawangan Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan Operasi, sementara pembacaan doa telah dipimpin oleh En. Husin bin Nasir juga dari Unit Lombong dan Kuari, Cawangan Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan Operasi.
